Trip & Travel Guidelines
ALL Troop Trips (anything outside of your normal meeting place) MUST be reported to GSSEF by emailing the Member Support Specialist for Blazing Star, Diana Mills at [email protected] . Follow the below guidelines and refer to GSSEF Volunteer Policies and Procedures for more information. You should consult the "Volunteer Essentials" and "Safety Activity Checkpoints" prior to planning a trip to ensure proper program safety requirements and girl ratios are met.
Remember, anytime you meet outside your regular meeting place you must have a signed parent permission slip. You do not need to submit this form to council. However, you must have it on you or adult in charge including a copy of the girls health form. * Our Council region is Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties. ALL Day Trips Within our Council Service Area*: No forms are necessary, but an email MUST be sent 48 business hours in advance to [email protected] In The Email Subject Line: "Troop (fill in your troop #) Trip Information". In the body of the email or attached, include: - A complete roster of girls and adults attending the trip - Date and Time of the trip - Where the trip is taking place ALL Day Trips that involve Swimming, Water, Horse or other Safety Equipment or that take place outside of our council region: A Travel Request form must be submitted 48 business hours in advance to the TDC. Plus the permission slip and copy of health form that you need to have on you. Do not submit this to council. In State Over Night Travel: Travel Request form Submitted 14 business days in advance Out of State Over Night Travel: Travel Request form Submitted 30 business days in advance * Additional Girl Scout Insurance is required for stays longer than 3-days/2-nights International Travel: Refer to GSSEF Volunteer Policies & Procedures -completed travel application 90 days prior to travel -additional GS Insurance -Signed parent/guardian permission slip -copy of Health Form * FOR ALL TRIPS YOU WILL NEED: - Signed Permission Forms for EACH girl attending - Health and Emergency Medical Forms for EACH girl and adult attending - A First Aid Kit |
